Drake SLAMS Serena Williams For Betraying Him For Kendrick Lamar
Drake just learned the hard way that Kendrick Lamar is not someone you want to have beef with. Kendrick might just be the pettiest rapper ever, and as if winning not one, not two, but five Grammys for his Drake diss track Not Like Us wasn’t embarrassing enough, he also performed the song at the Super Bowl. But that’s not all—because he brought out Serena Williams to perform the infamous “C-Walk” while tearing into Drake during his performance. Let me tell you, the entire crowd was gagged.
However, it looked like Drake was not here for Kendrick bringing his ex on stage, because he completely crashed out and declared the beef open once again. So, does this mean he’s heading back to the studio to drop another diss track? And how on Earth did Kendrick convince Serena to diss Drake? Let’s break it all down.
First off, it probably wasn’t very difficult for Kendrick to convince Serena to come on stage—because she hates Drake. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if she begged Kendrick to let her be part of the performance just to send a message. I mean, it’s not the first time she danced to Not Like Us—y’all remember the C-Walk she did while presenting at the ESPYs last year, right?
If we’ve learned anything this year, it’s that no one—not even Drake—should pick a fight with Kendrick Lamar.
The Messy History Between Drake & Serena
For those who don’t know, Drake and Serena used to be an item back in the day. But after they broke up, Drake just could not let it go. Instead, he made it his personal mission to humiliate her. This type of behavior isn’t surprising for Drake, because he has a disturbing pattern of lashing out whenever a woman rejects him.
We’ve seen it before with Rihanna—he spent years throwing not-so-subtle shade at her and ASAP Rocky, even though Rihanna hasn’t paid him any mind since they broke up. You’d think he’d get the memo and move on, but nope.
His obsession with women in the industry didn’t stop at Rihanna. Let’s not forget the awkward situation with Halle Berry. For years, he made it clear he was into her, but she never reciprocated the interest. Instead of taking the hint, Drake continued making cringeworthy remarks about her, sometimes crossing the line into straight-up inappropriate territory. One of the worst examples? When he randomly name-dropped her in his verse on Migos’ Versace Remix:
“Take a famous girl out where there’s no paparazzi / I’m tryna give Halle Berry a baby and no one can stop me.”
Yeah. Yikes.
But back to Serena. Unlike Drake, she actually moved on—she’s happily married to Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, and they have two kids together. But Drake couldn’t let that go either.
In 2022, he took a shot at Alexis in his song Middle of the Ocean, calling him a “groupie” for Serena:
“Sidebar, Serena, your husband a groupie / He claim we don’t got a problem, but no, boo / It is like you coming for sushi.”
Alexis clapped back in the classiest way possible, posting a picture of him and his daughter Olympia at one of Serena’s tennis matches, captioned:
“The reason I stay winning is because I’m relentless about being the absolute best at whatever I do—including being the best groupie for my wife and daughter.”
Serena, being the queen that she is, never even acknowledged Drake’s pettiness. But now? She finally got her lick back at the Super Bowl.
Kendrick & Serena Tag-Team Drake
When Serena C-Walked to Not Like Us on the Super Bowl stage, it was over for Drake. And the craziest part? She didn’t even get paid for the appearance—artists don’t get paid to perform at the Super Bowl. She did it purely out of spite. And I’m living for it.
Drake, on the other hand, was not happy. During his performance in Melbourne after the Super Bowl, he switched up the lyrics to Knife Talk and rapped:
“Beef is live / Spoiler alert: I never die.”
Drake is big mad over this, and honestly, who can blame him? Kendrick and Serena dragged him. Fans online were absolutely living for the moment:
“Kendrick bringing out Serena Williams to C-Walk after Drake stalked that woman publicly for years and obsessively threw shots at her for turning him down is so wild. That man is the definition of chaotic good.”
“Okay, I lied—Serena Williams doing a C-Walk on Drake’s tomb was the best thing I’ve ever seen.”
“Drake has antagonized Serena Williams for years—this is her retribution, this is her peace.”
But do you guys think Kendrick went too far bringing Serena into this, or do you think Drake had it coming? One thing’s for sure—Kendrick just won the beef, and Drake is looking real pressed. Let’s discuss!
